Artificial Intelligence (AI) is coming of age, in the sense that it is slowly becoming sophisticated enough to become part of products many of us use and take for granted, such as web search, voice recognition, and smart cars and navigation systems. The core foundation is formed by machine learning methods which allow Cygnify's software to learn important patterns from past (big) data, to predict future data and optimize future performance on the tasks required by the end user applications.
Most of Cygnify's solutions rely on a division of labor between, on the one hand, powerful and scalable backend software components running in the cloud and, on the other hand, efficient, lightweight frontend software components in web apps or mobile apps; connected to each other via flexible web services.
Relatively recent developments in machine learning have resulted in a class of methods known as Deep Learning, allowing these methods to find more sophisticated (deep), abstract patterns in data and achieve better classification, prediction, and control performance. Cygnify was one of the first to begin applying these methods to intelligent transportation systems.
